Beverley Matchette-Downes was born in Taplow, Bucks. She graduated in 2007 with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art from Buckinghamshire and Chilterns University and is currently undertaking an MA in Printmaking whilst painting and exhibiting in and around London.

She now lives in Marlow, Bucks with her husband and two sons. She works from Studio 13 in High Wycombe.
